In plain English: Booking with us means you accept these terms. Local jobs are billed hourly and long-distance is a binding written price, a deposit holds your date, and your goods are covered, with anything unclear best sorted out with our Virginia Beach office before move day.
These Terms of Service apply to moving work performed by Elite Shed Movers for customers across Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, and the rest of Hampton Roads. When you reserve a date with us, you’re agreeing to what’s written below. Read it first, and bring any questions to our Town Center office before the crew arrives.
Estimates, Hourly Rates, and Binding Quotes
How we price depends on the kind of move. Local jobs run on the clock; long-distance jobs run on a binding number you approve in advance.
| Move type | How it’s priced |
|---|---|
| Local, 2 movers + truck | $129/hr, blankets, dollies, and shrink-wrap included |
| Local, 3 movers + truck | $179/hr for larger or faster jobs |
| Long-distance | Binding written quote from $1,890, one crew the whole way |
| Piano, safe, or specialty items | From $379, added to your written estimate |
An hourly estimate is our honest projection from what you tell us; the final figure can move if the job on the day is bigger, the carry is longer, or stops get added. A binding long-distance price holds as long as the inventory and access match what you described, so flag stairs, tight Oceanfront parking, or an extra pickup up front.
Deposits, Rescheduling, and Cancellation
A modest deposit locks your slot and comes straight off the final bill. Because holding a date means turning other Hampton Roads jobs away, the notice you give us matters.
- Give us reasonable notice to reschedule and your deposit moves to the new date
- Cancel with reasonable notice and the deposit is credited toward a future move
- A same-day or last-minute cancellation may forfeit the deposit, since the truck and crew were already blocked off
On Move Day
A few practical points keep the day smooth and the written rate locked, no truck-day price creep on our end:
Access and Parking
Please clear a spot for the truck and confirm building or HOA rules ahead of time; waiting on blocked access is billable on hourly jobs.
What We Don’t Haul
For everyone’s safety we can’t load hazardous materials, propane, ammunition, or perishables. Pack those yourself or set them aside.
Payment
The balance is due on completion once everything is unloaded and you’ve walked the rooms; we’ll go over accepted methods when we confirm.
Valuation and Liability
Every move includes the federal baseline of released value at $0.60 per pound per article at no extra cost. If you want repair-or-replacement coverage, full-value protection is available for an added charge, with up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage per shipment.
- Released value is automatic and free, but pays by weight, not by what an item is worth
- Full-value protection must be arranged before move day, not after
- Claims should be filed in writing within the 9-month window after delivery
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. We hold US DOT and MC authority for interstate moves, we’re a registered Virginia household-goods mover, and we carry the bond, cargo coverage, and workers’ comp that registration requires.
